Comments
Comments: A real mixed bag of conditions today on Chocorua. The road was mostly snow and ice free, and the true snow line began around 2200 feet on the Liberty trail. There was quite a bit of black ice before that, though. From about .7 miles below the intersection up until maybe .2 past the cabin, trail conditions are pretty sketchy. There was lots of ice and monorail. I got by with just microspikes but this trail would be a lot more enjoyable in a couple weeks when it’s more melted out. The exposed ledges around the summit were mostly ice free but with the cold temps this morning, I took them slowly.
