Water crossings on lower Flume Slide were a little tricky. MicroSpikes helped on slippery or icy rocks, but only after two of three of us tried to cross without them and got pants wet. |

Some fresh blowdowns on lower FS will need a chainsaw. |

My buddies wore full crampons up Flume Slide, I wore Hillsound Pros (which were barely enough traction), three younger hikers came up in MicroSpikes or smaller traction. Good day out and up, but slow going on the ice. Stay safe, please.
Took snowshoes hoping that we'd get to Little Haystack, but not enough time. Nine hour loop. |
