 | Comments: |
Mostly dry trail with some small patches of snow almost up to the height of land on Miles Notch Tr; here it switched to pretty consistent snow and we barebooted to a little ways up Red Rock Tr. It then got deep enough that we put on snowshoes to go over the first knob and broke until we dropped down into the col between the knob and Red Rock Mtn. We were on a mix of spring snow, dry rock and trail, and slush from here until we reached the top stream crossing on Great Brook Tr. Considering that we were the only people here in 5 months and the incoming rain, we did a decent amount of postholing without caring about destroying the snowpack. Once we started descending Great Brook Tr, it was a mix of dry trail, running water in the trail, and minor snow patches. The road walk was a little muddy in spots |
