Comments
Comments: A fine day in the forest for a speed round Cannon. This finished up, by AMC standards anyways, my Spring for WMNF 4 Season's Grid. Only need a handful in fall! Spikes to about 2500, snowshoes to outlook. I should have taken them off there but I kept them on. There is some bare rock on the ascent towards the Rim Trail but the wind was howling, by Facebook group standards, well over 100 miles an hour. In reality about 30-35, but I was commited at this point.. Wore spikes from the tower back down to the car. The tower was absolutely singing this morning and I got blown around. A brief undercast did appear towards North Kinsman and some lovely and menancing cloud formations noted towards the North. The descent was exciting, there is lots of blue ice so ample opportunity for boot skiing. Several mildly out of control skids, two of which I just threw my hands up and yelled "Joe Dodge take the wheel!" If you love cheap thrills, you'll love the expanding amounts of bullet ice you'll find after this rain storm. Ran into Dragoon on the trail!
