A tick! In my sock! Ugh! Noticed this when i changed my socks at the hut on the descent. How the hay did a tick get past my gators and way down past my ankle bone?!?! |

Turned out to be a lovely day. Speedy ascent with trail crampons biting nicely into the snow pack. Bare boots on the Osgood Trail. Saw one guy with snowshoes and dog early on. I had mine but the trail was too uneven on the descent. Most people had spikes.
Oh! I fell into a spruce trap. One leg in, one leg out. And I was stuck! I had to dig my foot out with my hiking pole! A nice couple stopped to help and held Hank Williams and waited until my foot was free. I guess it’s time to pack a light shovel. Crazy.
And, i saw a juvenile moose along route 3 near 141. Very cool! Very eventful hike today. |
