Red Hill Trail is mostly snow free and relatively dry. A few minor patches of snow that probably won't be around much longer. A little bit of mud just below the summit. Otherwise, this south facing, gravelly trail is in pretty good shape.
Cabin Trail had some lingering snow up high, but nothing too bad. A little mucky at the cabin. One very muddy stretch on the snowmobile corridor with a little bit of ice above it as well.
Unless we get measurable snow, no need for snowshoes or spikes if just doing the Red Hill Trail.
Beautiful afternoon weather with temperatures in the upper 50s. Saw one trailing arbutus flower in bloom not too far above the chain. Lakes still iced over. |
