 | Comments: |
Trails were virtually snow free on the lower half of the ascent, but patchy ice and spring snow still remain higher up (did not go beyond the southern viewpoint just beyond the summit). I was able to bareboot with care in warmer temperatures, but an old pair of Microspikes may be useful, particularly on descent. Snowshoes will be superfluous on these two trails unless we get more snow.
Did not see much benefit to using the Ridge Trail Road Bypass, but perhaps it has more ambiance when the leaves are out and you can't see the road next to you. Adds about 0.1 miles one way, but does bypass the communications tower (and there is a spur to another viewpoint). |
