No significant water crossings. There was a water crossing on the blue trail but it was bridged over with snow and ice. |

I found some sunglasses on the round pond trail, which I left at the wood road trailhead. I also found a hiking pole snow basket, which I kept. |

I did some redlining around belknap mountain and round pond today. There was a wide range of different trail conditions. The carriage road was mostly mud with some large patches of ice. There were many sections that had wet bare ground with patches of ice. Some sections were very muddy. Other sections were covered in thick ice. There were a few sections with a few inches of spring snow, but it rarely went on for long enough for it to be worth putting on snowshoes. I did use my snowshoes for a while on the blue trail as there was significant postholed snow in that area. I managed to make it down the bushwack to the plane wreck though there was knee deep snow in that area. If you want to do this soon, youll see my snowshoe tracks. |
