 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Neither trail is signed at all, and only CHL has old blue blazes, once you can find the trail (see below). CHL appears to see only very light use and has the appearance of being abandoned in places. Overall, these trails are poorly marked and could be very confusing. Simple signage will go a long way toward increasing their appeal. |

Not to be confused with the other nearby Corser Hill in Webster, this Corser Hill (451 ft.) has a broad open summit (no views though) which once was the site of the Corser family homestead. An old cellar hole remains.
Amesbury Field Road was easy enough to follow; it's an active farm road. Mostly dry but one large area of remaining ice in a shady spot. Some mud. According to the map, this is supposed to intersect with the loop trail over Corser Hill, but on the ground there is no such junction. I "cornwhacked" across the field until I found a woods road which took me to the blue-blazed trail up (not orange as the Hopkinton NH Conservation Commission website states). Once on top, signage is definitely needed to avoid walking off in various directions. The trail passes through an interesting gate at the north side of the summit clearing, then loops back along the west side of the hill.
This area also looks like high tick potential, so be sure to double check after visiting. |
