Another beautiful day for the Prezi range. Sunshine and no wind except a 5 mph breeze that popped up now and then. Trail was hard packed to both peaks and it started to soften as I started descending. There were no problems if you stay in the center of the trail but about half way down Valley Way there was some slush/soft snow on top of the hard pack that caused some sliding. There were also a few places that showed the beginnings of a monorail starting to form. Used Hill Sounds start to finish but wondered if I would need snowshoes on the way out if my hike went further into the afternoon. It was 26 degrees when I started at 7:15 and 60 degrees when I finished at 1:15. Good talking with Mark on Mt Adams. |
