Comments: A beautiful day in the Presis! Ammo Ravine trail is well-packed, though from Lakes of the Clouds to the summit it gets a little choose-your-own-adventure among the various tracks — the snow is solid, and the various tracks stay close to one another, so just follow the cairns and you'll be good.

Snowshoes went for the ride today, and most folks I saw were either wearing Microspikes or skis. As I descended Ammo Ravine, I wished I'd brought crampons, since the wet spring snow got slippery on the steeps. Most people (including me!) weren't wearing crampons, but I'd bring them if you have them. Definitely appreciated an ice axe today, both for the snow slopes above tree line and the steep descent from Lakes of the Clouds.

Most importantly, it's spring conditions like none other in the Presis. Get out there and have fun!
