Hiking Trail Conditions Report |
| Peaks |
North Kinsman, South Kinsman, NH |
| Trails: |
Lonesome Lake Trail, Fishin' Jimmy Trail, Kinsman Ridge Trail |
| Date of Hike: |
Saturday, March 20, 2021 |
| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The lots were plowed, and people were parking along the sides of the access roads with no visible trouble. Because some people come to Lafayette for shorter trails, it's reasonably likely someone will be leaving as you are arriving. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Slush |
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction, Snowshoes |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
All bridges were easily passable. Lonesome Lake made a popping sound as I walked over it, but it was covered in footprints. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw several. |
| Bugs: |
A few spiders. |
| Lost and Found: |
I found a pair of red Eastern Mountain gloves, one after the other, and left them by the Lafayette sign near the trailhead. Someone else had already put a pink water bottle and a pair of black insulated gloves. |

| Comments: |
You could do this whole trail in microspikes easily. I switched to snowshoes up on Kinsman Ridge because there were a few places where the snow was churned and chunky. |
