road up to lot in better shape than i've seen it in a while. still a couple decent water bars to get over, but not bad at all. |

drainages up high on starr king and on the ridge could use some servicing. |

some mosquitoes in the parking lot, but no bugs beyond that.

trail in nice shape. i little bit of mud in the usual spots, but really minimal. everything was wet and a bit slick. spring partway up starr king currently flowing. after a couple plan changes based around the weather forecast i ended up hiking to waumbek today. it was oppressively humid down low, but did get nicer higher up. the woods on the ridge are real beautiful right now with lots of lush fern growth. as always, it was nice to be out.
