Comments
Comments: The trails started out solid with a crispy surface, spikes were perfect but barebooting would have been fine. Snow surface got a bit looser ascending with a firm base underneath, some minor drifting between the cabin and the peak. The cold kept the trail conditions nearly perfect all day except for a couple of short sections where the sun softened the surface in the afternoon. Spikes worked well for the whole trip but bareboots or snowshoes would have been a good choice as well. Occasional postholes along the trail edges, mostly down low and easily avoidable. Met a friendly chap near the top and we chatted all the way back down, making for a seemingly quick descent. Finished my first SSW48 with just a few hours to spare.
