Comments
Comments: Went out and back from Lincoln Woods (22.7 Miles). Started hike at 5:15am in the dark and returned to the car around 4:45pm . The Lincoln Woods trail was stable but you could see where someone postholed significantly. Used microspikes the whole way but snowshoes could have been used also. Summitted Bondcliff, only trace snow on the cliff so we bare booted for a bit. Heavier levels of snow as we went up to Mount Bond so went back to using spikes. Mount Bond to West Bond was a stable monorail but was getting sticky and slick as the day went on due to the high temps. Experienced major snowballing on the spikes for this section of the trail. Slippery melting conditions on the way back out but the monorail stayed stable. We brought 5 liters of water between 2 of us which was sufficient but we were prepared to filter water if needed.
