Ammonoosuc Trail monorail in good shape for the moment. I used showshoes with heel-lifters, my companions stuck with spikes. Easy walking on Crawford trail across ice, hardpack snow, and loose drifts. Cairns easily seen and followed. Just lean into the 50mph winds and keep moving...! Not sure about the final half mile, we turned back due to concern for canine companion. |
