Carried out two painted rocks. Now I own a couple of adorable painted rocks, so a win for me. I reached out to the rock painter on Instagram to let them know it is frowned upon/violates LNT, but not sure how they'll respond. |

I was pleasantly surprised by the trail conditions after the reports from the last couple days. There are definitely spots with soft spring snow, but the trail was firmer than I expected after the warm weather this week. Snowshoes might have been useful in a few spots, but we wore microspikes the whole way. The descent was a little slick and slidey (with a couple great butt sliding sections). Watch out for postholes - some were very deep! I fell in one, which luckily was funny, but easily could have been bad. |
