Comments
Comments: Walked through the gate on Rooney Rd., put on snow shoes and they stayed on for the entire hike. Hiked Rooney Rd., following tracks to the tower on N. Dalton, found RHP, signed in and returned to Rooney Rd, following the tracked route. From this point I began bushwhack to Dalton, heading almost due south. Snow 1-2 feet of mashed potatoes quality. Trekked though a cut-over, lots of brambles. Then began climbing ridge through open woods, going over three bumps. After climbing steeply up the last or third bump I reached a magnificent 180 + degree view. One of the best views on the 500 list. From here it was a short jog to the summit. The jar was new (7/20) and I found POSTED signs near summit, wondering if the previous jar had to be moved off private land. Returned to Rooney Rd. following tracks back. The woods were stunning and lots of wildlife tracks and sounds, signs of spring.
