A perfect day in the hills! This hike was done going clockwise around the loop trail. The conditions were fantastic -- firm, stable compacted snow on the trail, slightly wet with the warm weather. Evolving 18" or so monorail, with the potential for deep postholing to either side. But stick to the trail and you'll be good. Microspikes the whole day. The luge down from South Hancock was awesome! Definitely recommend going up to North peak first, as the route down from South is very steep and slick from all the other buttsliders. |
