Shoeshoes all the way today. It was soft going on the ascent, with rain dripping from the trees as I climbed near treeline. But the snow really softened up on the descent to the consistency of mashed potatoes. Hard to believe it, but I was postholing while wearing 26" snowshoes. Walking on the monorail doesn't help...it is also very soft. Ran into a few old cronies on the summit. What are the chances of that! |
