A mixed bag. 20 degrees starting out and 36 degrees when I got back at dusk. Mostly hard packed in the morning and turned a little slushy in the afternoon in many places. I wore Hillsounds crampons without problems but that may change as it gets warmer. You may want to think about snowshoes if it stays warm. The firewarden had loose/slushy snow but was packed underneath. Haystack road was hard packed in the morning but a snowmobiler went up it and part way up North Twin Trail some time during the day - Loose/slushy on the way out. Pretty tight for the most part at elevation although cleats needed snow removal from time to time. |
