Comments
Comments: Last night's temperatures were below freezing and the trails were in excellent shape early morning. I used snowshoes for the whole hike for the heel-risers on the ascent and added traction across the Ridge and on the descent. I suspect the trails will be getting softer during the day with warming temperatures, and icier with cooling nighttime temperatures. Franconia Ridge Trail had enough snow that I could still wear my snowshoes without beating on them, but there is some exposed rock and portions of the trail are beginning to ice up. Greenleaf Trail below the hut has been packed out, but snowshoes are probably best on that portion of the trail.

Finished my SSW 48 on Lafayette. Couldn't have asked for better conditions or weather.
