The road up to the lot was iced over and I nearly got stuck trying to get up it, so I parked in the Mt. Waumbek Scenic Overlook. You should be fine if you have 4-wheel drive, though. |

Beautiful, easy hike with some nice views at Mt. Starr King and just past the summit of Mt. Waumbek (maybe 50 feet further on, if that). The trail was well-packed--definitely did not need snowshoes--and there was some excellent butt sliding on the way back down. |
