We skied the road, which was getting soft by early afternoon. Signal Ridge Trail was hard-packed throughout and spikes worked well. The lower portion of the trail was softening in a few places on our descent but we still weren't leaving much for tracks. The warm-up tomorrow will certainly change things and snowshoes will be a necessity until the next sustained cold. Carrigain Notch Trail appeared to be broken out, Desolation did not.
Fun hike with Chris in changing, but generally pleasant weather conditions. Great views under the cloud cover. This completed my >70 winter NH48, never a goal but it just kind of happened. |
