Excellent hike of these two. Moody skies and sustained moderate wind made for a great time. The trails are overall are well packed with expected postholes on the sides. There are a couple of huge frozen drifts above treeline ascending towards the summit.Micros would've been fine for entire hike but I switched to snowshoes at 3500 to utilize the heel lifts and in preparation for possible drifting at higher levels.South Peak had great views today despite cloud cover. Upon return at lower levels close to trailhead snow was quite soft. I met four others today. It was nice chatting very briefly at the summit with one.
