Comments
Comments: I met about a dozen really nice hikers. Much thanks to the girl who gave me sunscreen! Many thanks to the first guy I encountered who encouraged me to do the traverse. In his words “it doesn’t get any better than this”. I talked to a guy at the summit of Lafayette. He said, “if you can’t do the ridge in these conditions you just can’t do the ridge”. He was spot on. Conditions were the best ever of any season. The trail was hard packed. The sun was out, no wind, temps in the teens. I was able to spend 30 minutes at the summits of Lafayette and Haystack. Hiking poles were the best gear of the day for me. Super day out!
