Comments
Comments: Microspikes to and from the base of the Brutus herd path and crampons up and down the summit. There was a mix of methods/traction by people leaving a well consolidated trail on Owl's Head path and above the steeps on Brutus. Most of the microspikes and butt sliders canceled out leaving a nice luge track in places. I specifically wore crampons up and down for the frontpoints and to deal with the expected luge track/ crusty snow. Very well packed trail the entire way and also for Franconia Falls. Note that conditions will likely be different after the warmspell this week melting a good portion of the snowpack.
