Comments
Comments: From vehicle followed mine road as it zig zagged up hill to upper mine at 1800’. Bw NW from there arriving on ridge bump a bit SW of Signal. Bw brought us through mostly scratchy, often thick woods and a couple of sprucy areas. Then turned N to summit finally hitting some open woods. Recognized high point easily found. Bag containing register seriously deteriorated as is string holding jar.
Probably couldn’t have picked a worse bw route if we tried. When viewed on satellite view, our route traversed the darkest green section of the E side of this mountain. There appear to be more open woods to the NE or SW of our route. Accessing this mountain from the logged W side appears to be easy.
Breaking effort - none to minimal up to mine. Significant effort from mine to summit area due to thin, unsupportive crust and sometimes deep snow.
Grades - easy to mine, moderate thereafter
