Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Various duck-under fallen trees, especially on the Kinsman Pond Trail. Blazing needs to be improved on the Kinsman Pond Trail. Without a track, this trail would be difficult to follow in places. Blazes are too low, especially near the top before the pond. This is a moderate year for snow and some blazes were 12-16" above the snow and the trail corridor is very narrow/indistinct.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw no dogs, and only 1 person all day on the lower cascade-Basin Trail

Comments
Comments: Snowshoes with televator feature were perfect for the day, especially on the climbs up the Cascade, Kinsman Pond and Kinsman Ridge Trails. Drifts in various spots. Kinsman Pond Trail is lightly used and NOT fully consolidated. Bare booting would NOT work. The descents on the Kinsman Ridge, Fishin Jimmy, and Cascade Brook Trails were nice with alpine type snowshoes and the good track. We did NOT butt slide. Beautiful snow, views and some sunshine on a cold (5 DegF on summits) and blustry day. Thanks Will Condon for your trail report and setting a track on the Kinsman Pond Trail.
