| Comments: |
19 Mile Brook to the Carter Dome Trail was a sidewalk, fine for spikes. We switched to snowshoes partway up the Carter Dome Trail and wore them for the duration. Although trails were generally firm, there were many drifted sections and snowshoes were ideal. We saw one other hiker, also on snowshoes, so there is a good, smooth track throughout. He also climbed Carter Dome reporting some major drifting, which he broke out. Winds were stiff today; expect drifting to have covered our tracks.
Lovely hike with Chris, Sarah and Michael. Woods and views were superb but winds made progress a challenge along open areas of the ridge. |
