| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Lot off Route 302 just down the road from Zealand Road has plenty of room to park and is plowed. We arrived around 9:20am and there were only a handful of cars and trucks/trailers in the lot. Still wasn’t full when we returned in the afternoon. |

| Comments: |
Zealand Road was in good condition in the morning, and we were able to bareboot to the Hale Brook Trailhead. At the trailhead, we put on snowshoes and left them on until we were back out on Route 302. Hale Brook Trail was in good condition, but the snow on top was loose in spots. With the warning temps throughout the day, snowshoes were necessary.
The one side-sloping stretch was a little dicey on our ascent, but after a few others in snowshoes helped pack it down even more, it was a bit “easier†on our descent (still recommend using caution on this section!)
Only saw 3 others on the trail all day - everyone was wearing snowshoes. |
