wore micros half way up to whiteface. easy to tell when the switch should happen as the snow got deeper, less packed, softer. Was spinning out in micros, didn't want to posthole. TUBBS were great on the ledges, prob better than the micros would have been. It clear snowshoes across the ridge. Couple spots on the ridge where some narrow spots had post holes and had to watch your footing as there wasnt much room to the slope drop off. There were many with micros. Many postholes along the ridge. Kept snow shoes on all the way to parking lot but could have switched back to micros at intersection of rollins/dicey. Kept the snowshoes on to try and smooth out some of the post holes on the way down while the snow was soft/before it got icy and froze. |
