Hopped over the only exposed water near the trailhead. Easy enough to step over. |

After considering Tecumseh, we saw a few helpful trail reports written earlier this week. The current conditions were very closely aligned with earlier reports. We wore spikes car to car and saw a mix of light traction and snowshoes on other hikers. In terms of actual traction on the way up, I did not experience any slipping/sliding or even toes digging into the snow as long as I stayed thoughtful about my steps. I could see how one could dig their boots into the trail if they were hurrying and rushing. I did see another hiker posthole up to their thigh when stepping off the trail. The times that I stepped aside for uphill traffic, I was able to take a few prep steps and create a small place to stand off trail without a dramatic posthole :)
