Comments
Comments: Both trails were hard-packed snow with a topping of two inches of unconsolidated dry snow at higher elevations. Above treeline the surface was a mix of hard-packed snow and rime ice. Light traction was used car-to-car. But step off the trail and you will sink above your knees. I saw four skiers who came up the Carriage Road and six hikers who came up Glencliff. A surprising small number considering how beautiful the weather was.
