I parked at camp bell. There is a good size signed parking lot. The road and the parking lot were plowed. Manning lake road is a pretty rough dirt road. I was able to make it down the road in my FWD car with snow tires, but it was rough going. I probably wouldnt want to drive this road if it were any muddier. |

I did some redlining around mount mack, mount klem, and the round pond today. I encountered an amazing view of the lakes region on the balknap range trail between round pond and mount klem. Theres a few inches of snow on the mountains. I didnt encounter much ice. The bottom half of the mack ridge trail had been barebooted while the top half is broken out with snowshoes. The round pond trail had many postholes. I found it best to wear my snowshoes for the majority of the day. If the snow gets soft due to the warm weather over the next few days, snowshoes will be needed. |
