Comments
Comments: Barebooted GRLoop, then the same from the trailhead until the 2nd water crossing, at which point I put on the snowshoes and kept them on until the same point on the return. Not a posthole on the trail to be seen, and the snowpack is setting up nicely. Trail base is relatively firm but with 3-6" of loose snow on top from Monday. Definitely was glad to have the snowshoes. The days' warmer temps caused some softening of the snow but still didn't see any postholes. Got lucky on timing, with the day starting out nice with partly cloudy (mostly blue sky) and calm winds. Summit very nice, then on the descent things turned totally gray with a few flurries. I saw three others this day, all with snowshoes.

ps webmaster, love the clarification pics for "monorail", that's been bugging me for years.
