Comments
Comments: Decided to go for it despite a less than ideal forecast and I'm so happy we did. We hiked up breaking a few inches of fresh powder and deeper drifts and were in the clouds on the climb up Lafayette. Not 50 feet from the summit the clouds cleared revealing undercast and dissipating clouds after that. We were granted safe passage across the ridge amidst sunshine and low to near no winds at times. After Haystack we broke 8 to 10 inches of fresh snow with an occasional trough apparent. Upon reaching Liberty Springs junction we were on packed trail. Those that descended before us must have had a fun slide down but we just ran down. Bushwhack to Basin is packed abd apparent.
