A FINE snowglobe hike. We took turns laying first tracks in the lightest, fluffiest powder ever. Ranged from 1-4" top to bottom. Spikes car to car, carried snowshoes but never once felt like we needed them. Rock solid base ripe for zoom zoom speeds. It felt like someone shook up a snowglobe for most of it. Truly gorgeous scenes to be had despite socked in views. Saw no one till the return trip to Starr King, then we found a parade of folks ascending. Got some good runs in on the sled, ran into Hiker Ed too! |
