Comments
Comments: Underfoot, the soft trails were great and I don't feel like the 2-6" of light fluff we kicked around counts as trail-breaking, haha. Hike your own hike but 'spikes only might make for a long day of postholing. Saw a term on here I love: car washing. Miles and miles of tree branches covered in snow to push through because the snow is so deep! Wear a hooded shell. Descending Bondcliff to Lincoln Woods, there is a long switchback that has hardened off-camber and was difficult to keep from sliding toward the trees in snowshoes. I don't think 'spikes would help there either, probably something more diesel like crampons. You'll make it; just a heads up that that part sucks. I finished my first Single Season ever! Winter was a questionable choice, hahahaa.
