Fast up to the hut I wore snowshoes up until a little past that point until I reached the slide. There was only one who had been before me who barebooted so my already lacking snowshoes were struggling to fit into any foot holds. When it got to the slide which was a little sketchy I decided to stash them and put on crampons which made the going a lot faster and safer. Postholing was sometimes an issue but largely avoidable and I kept these crampons on all the way to finish. By the time I was coming back down A two groups of snowshoers had chewed things up and made the descent easier. If you have proper aggressive snowshoes you will be fine with those. |
