Snow was packed down on trail, loose granular. Some postholes on sides of trail. The trail was steep and narrow for last quarter mile, so micro-spikes are recommended. The waterfall was spectacular at the end!! Please note, for anybody that is going through Bemis Brook, trail is ice-covered from previous storm. There is no trail on Bemis Brook, so you will have to follow the the markers with snowshoes. There are lots of postholes on Bemis Brook trail, so be aware! Only saw one blowdown, and it was easy to go around it. I did not attempt the Bemis Brook Trail, I did Arethusa Trail all the way up. Great day for a hike! |
