| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Mt. Clinton Road lot plowed, but slippery with compacted snow. $5 day use fee or park pass required. Only about 4 other vehicles at ~0830; fewer at ~1430. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Unpacked Powder |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
All covered solidly |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A few blowdowns but nothing crazy. Most look as though they have been there for a bit as the herd path around them was just as stable as the main trail bed. Will have to wait for snow melt to remove given the size of them. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
My lab loved every bit of it, and we saw one other pooch. No issues with terrain or ice this time. |

Blue hydroflask bottle on Webster Cliff trail a little east of Webster summit. Let me know if it's yours...miketperkins@gmail.com |

Filled in some redlining today and it was nice to be out without major crowds. Could probably get away with just spikes the entire trek, but I put my snowshoes on when I reached Mizpah hut in case there were any drifts on the ridge/summits. A couple of inches of loose powder on top of a very consolidated monorail (although it is narrow in spots going down Webster-Jackson). Bring your gear people! Spoke with one "turned around" gentleman who had no map, or idea of which trailhead he parked at; just asked how to get back to Rte. 302. Another couple were out in jeans and barebooting talking about how they were chilly and slipping all day. |
