Early Start around 7am. One other hiker, Stacy, going to Carter Dome arrived around the same time. Otherwise empty lot. Cold conditions to start. Packed trail with frozen surface. Boots to start and then Snowshoes later as drifts started at the first split. Very windy conditions going between a South and Middle but not too exposed so a brief tuck and go fast worked. Sunny conditions warmed up out of the wind which wasn't until way down. Light tracks to follow by poles if not snowshoes. Arrived back around 2pm. Didn't see anyone else all day. Lovely views that didn't quit and the Sun! |
