Trails were in really good shape given the weather yesterday. Wasn’t much in the way of actual trail breaking. From the trailhead to the sandwich wilderness sign is really hard crusty packed snow. Once in the wilderness the trail has more give to it with a little depth of softer snow but still solid. After the scaur ridge junction, the trail disappears for a small section where there’s some drifting. Once on the ridge the trail came back and was pretty easy to follow. A few people out today but with the high winds the trail might be lost again up high. Damn cold day but crystal clear views. |
