Comments
Comments: Excellent hike of Mt Garfield with a fellow Gridder.Snow totals weren't high overall but with the consistency and winds we did seemingly break trail both ways🙂 We started this hike in sleet which followed us most of the way intermittently up the Garfield Trail. New snow amounts ranged from 3-4"inches to approximately 6-8" on Garfield Trail. The GRT to the summit had nearly a foot of slabby snow. The winds at the summit were surprisingly high so we descended quickly. Snow overall was very granular to cement like until returning to lower levels where it was borderline mashed potatoes. Most of our tracks including the roadwalk were covered over upon return Snowshoes from start to finish and very glad to have a partner for this hike.
