Becca and I skinned from the where the Crescent Ridge Glades top out and headed northeast to North Randolph's highpoint. It was too easy, we skinned right up to the snowcovered jar, attacking this highpoint from the south is gentle. It was five years ago I found a jar hanging from a tree branch on top of that bump that is North Randolph's highpoint. I doubt we would have ever found it if I hadn't been there before. Nice short whack on skis and her splitboard. The jar's string is looking thin and the register notebook was dry even though the plastic bag was torn up. I wish I had brought ziplock baggie along. We did two laps in the glades and I am glad we went early because we must have passed 20 people on their way up the bottom of the glades and surely more were higher up. Super Mountain Vista from the Wildlife Clearing at the bottom of the glades. It was only -5 when we started but warmed up to the mid-teens by 11 am (when we left and then we snowshoed up Willard over in Crawford Notch for an afterlunch activity). Didn't appear that the Crescent Ridge Trail was broken out. |
