Great time out with Gypsy Hiker and Sunshine. Passed a solo hiker in spikes on our way up. Saw no one else until we were leaving the summit - that one hiker also in snowshoes. On our way down, we passed many hikers - maybe 15? - some carrying snowshoes but all wearing spikes. Trail was in good condition but not sure after today. The trail is soft and after the spikers went up - many divots were left on the trail. One group - who stepped off trail to let us by and sank said we should have stepped off because we had snowshoes on. Another couple asked us to step off because we were in snowshoes. Have fun out there - but wear those snowshoes to keep the trail pleasant for all who hike. |
