Peaks None, NH
Trails
Trails: Lincoln Woods Trail, Franconia Falls Trail, Bondcliff Trail, Wilderness Trail, Pemi East Side Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Saturday, February 13, 2021
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We were mildly surprised how comparatively few cars there were today despite the gorgeous weather. Less than two dozen.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow/Ice - Postholes
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes, Light Traction, Skis
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Everything was frozen or bridged. The bridge that is closed at mile 1.8 of Lincoln Woods is easily circumvented (it’s barely as long as a pair of skis) and a lot of people were ignoring the fact that it was closed.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails are in fantastic condition. There was only one notable blowdown out on the Bondcliff that was easily stepped over even in skis. There may be others, but they are buried under snow. One duck under as well. Also see the note about the bridge closure on the Lincoln Woods.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Lots of dogs, all very happy.
Bugs
Bugs:
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found one nice, black glove and left it on the bench at the ranger station.

Comments
Comments: What a fantastic day to be out. Trails are in terrific condition. Some minor post-holing beyond the wilderness boundary, but nothing problematic. We opted for skiing today and the snow is absolutely fantastic right now. Well-packed on the entire route.
