Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few leaners, Bog boy used the saw on our way down Lonesome lake trail before we met back up with the around the lake trail. Trails are all pretty good except the snow is making the trees hang low, especially challenging for our 6’4” Buddy hiking with us. But it’s winter.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: One of our party lost a water bottle in our way down the very steep KRT, some awesome hiker found it and left it at the trailhead. So found! Thank you!

Comments
Comments: Fantastic snowy conditions for a snowshoe trek up Cannon and down to the lonesome lake. We wore microspikes only on the lonesome lake trail until the Dodge Cutoff. At that point the proper footwear was only snowshoes. We also loved the heel lifts going up. We kept the shoes on going down the KRT and back to the lake and definitely needed them on the around the lake trail and walking across the frozen lake. Slushy deep postholes on the lake itself were an indicator of needing snowshoes. Winds were light and skies clear for great views. Also a 22 degree halo was visible around the sun. Such a treat!
