Great morning hike of these two peaks with between 1.5 and 2 inches of new powder on the trail. Snowshoes went on shortly after the start of Blueberry Ledge trail and stayed on for the hike. Trail has a good track started although it gets choppy and postholed at upper elevations. There was also heavy drifting as well as trail being obscured at a few points before Whiteface viewpoint. The ledges were no problem today as there was a crusty layer of snow for the snowshoes to bite into. Hillsounds would have worked as well. After the viewpoint a nice snowshoe track has been established with surprisingly small drifts across the bowl. These drifts increased slightly as I neared the Dicey's Mill intersection. I met only 1 hiker on the descent just below Rollins Trail intersection. Today Grids out these two summits.
